Please Help I just got a TIVO and I have a Dish 5000 Receiver. I got the Dish Channels programed along with the cable channels. (I have to have cable to get local channels) the Dish 5000 is my also my "Cable Reciever" so I need to find out which IR code will work with my Dish 5000 when I select the Cable Box. The Dish 5000 IR programs OK when I put in the Satellite part but not in the cable part of the set up. Does anybody know what I need to do to get this to work. (channels 02-99 are cable channels that my Dish 5000 recieves but I can't program the IR to conrol the Dish 5000 as a "Cable Box"

Why do you need Dish 5000 to be the cable box too? Just split the cable input and connect to the TiVo. MUCH less complicated.

I have a 5000 as well.

You need to just take the cable input to your 5000 and move it to the rf in on Tivo. As you'll be watching through Tivo now, you'll never use the local channel feature of the 5000 again. Tivo will now serve this purpose.

Make sure you ran guided setup so that you have satellite and cable with no box. Tivo's built in tuner will receive channels 2-99, then the A/V inputs take over when you switch to any channel from 100-999.

Also, I believe the IR code I use is 10011 (medium) ?
