Officially a "Two TiVo" Family thanks to Target clearance sale!

Stopped by my local Target to pickup a 20-Hour Phillips TiVo for $139 on clearance. The best part of this deal? I had $55 in Target gift certificates I had been saving from MyPoints.com!

So I got our second TiVo for less than $90! Very sweet.

For the record, this one will be "the wife's" TiVo and will go upstairs in the bedroom. The basement TiVo will now be 'boys only' for me and my son (I deleted the "Wedding Story" and "Oprah" season passes this morning).

We haven't introduced the two TiVos to each other yet, and I'm pretty sure they don't know about each other (unless they have a really good sense of smell). I'm worried about jealousy creeping in, you know.

Don't forget to fix the thumbs. Perhaps some editing via "Teach Tivo" is in order to throughly de-feminize the old box.

Thanks for the reminder, but not to worry! I kept strict control on the thumbs, removing any that were added due to season passes or other recordings.

The masculinity of my original TiVo is well intact. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

Ahhh... very nice. I am SO looking forward to getting my DirecTiVo for the "guys" room and passing the old SA to the wife.

It'll be sweet to tell DirecTiVo that "Lifetime" is not a channel I receive. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Ahhhh yes.....it is very nice indeed. I did the same thing, DirecTv for me, old SA for the wife. It is nice to not have to watch the Scarlet Pimpernel (sp?) and musicals all the time. :-)

This past Saturday one of our two Targets in Lincoln, NE had one 20-hour marked down from $199 to $99.94. Applied for Target CC to knock another $10 off brought my total w/tax to $95 and change.

The other Target had three at $139 a couple weeks ago. Ran over there and they were all gone. Don't know if they got knocked down to $99.94 or not.

Posted this to hot deals over at anandtech.com yesterday and someone responded that electronics are always marked down on Mondays -- so stop by Target on the way home tonight if you're looking for a TiVo... http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Just stopped by the Super Target on Union Park Blvd to pick up a 20 hour for $99.94. I think I'll upgrade it and make it a Christmas present for my folks. Thanks for the heads-up guys!

Don't do that. 1 out of every 10 blue moons there is something good on that channel.

What's going on? Are there no more supermarket sweep fans left?
