My bios won't regognize my maxtor & it's the newest version available. I don't see a "none" setting in Bios, but if I unplug all HD's & boot & save changes bio's says "None" to Primary & secondary drives. Then when I boot back up with Maxtor conected, it doesn't see it & bios still says "none". When I use dylans boot disk it says something like "no Blesstivo drive". Someone else said that their computer saw the drive on Primary master. I haven't tried that, but Dylans bootdisk says not to use it this way.
HELP!!!!
p.s. I have a newer computer that see's the drive, but it see's dylans bootdisc as a "Non Systems Disk or Disc error" I reformat & re-do & use different floppys & nothing fixes this. It also says something about Norton found NYB virus??? Tried to fix virus & it still finds virus later.

Could the drive be locked (see the HACK FAQ)? Does DBD see /dev/hd? while booting?
Is virus checking disabled in the BIOS? There's been some other threads concerning COMPAQ's that won't boot DBD.

Yup Both computers are Compaq's. I don't think the drive is locked, because the newer computer see's the drive.

O.K. I'm an Idiot on this one. The statement I was getting on the oldest computer was "BlessTivo Not Found". It didn't say "BlessTivo Drive Not found" Turnes out that I didn't capitalize the "V" in Tivo. I should have entered BlessTiVo /dev/hdc instead of BlessTivo /dev/hdc. Found out the problem when I tried to bless it on another new computer and got the same message. First thing I thought was that somehow Mike's BlessTiVo file was missing from the Bootdisc, then I re-read the instructions again & caught the error.
