I have a 30 day DVD pass from blockbuster and i can't watch all those movies (one a day) so i record them to the tivo (then delete when done with them) In order not to confuse them with anything else I record on ch 100 (pay per view hilites) but that is what they are listed as. I d/l'ed a file called "uprec.tcl" which is suppoesed to allow you to rename things but it didn't come with instructions on how to implement this file. Do I have to go to the trouble to remove my drive and install in a pc to be able to copy this file to the drive, and then how do i do that? It can't be as simple as copying it to the drive. Is there any other simplier way to do be able to rename files? If you can point me to a faq or instructions on this or have other ways to do this please advise.... thanks

A low tech way to have an index is as follows:

The chananel I use is channel 3 which has Headline News. When a recording is completed it will be listed under Now Showing as follows:

Headline News Tue 10/24

When the right arrow is used, much more information appears, including:

Tue 10/24 4:45 pm 3 CNNH
Duration: 4:20 (Partial)
Video: Best Quality

From this information I can prepare an index, such as:

Aunt Mary's Family (Headline News Tue 10/24; 4:45 pm; 4:20)

Colorado Trip (Headline News Sun 10/8; 9:00 pm; 0:43)

etc.
