Is a 'Satellite Direct' magazine still needed?

As a DirecTV user new to TiVo I'm now weighing the worth of the thick 'Satellite Direct' magazine with all the channel information in it. It seems like it is worthwhile to learn about new PPV offerings, but not that much more other than some special programs it showcases.
I'm thinking about canning the subscription to the magazine (12 mos for $37.95) in favor of doing just the 'TiVo Showcase' to keep me informed. Does this seem like a good idea? How can I keep up with PPV offerings and special programs online? Any websites, links are welcome. Thanks in advance for any input on this.

I found I wasn't using Satellite Direct about four months ago -- didn't even look at it -- and decided to allow the subscription to lapse in August. The only reason I might have kept it is for PPV listings, but I usually had to dig out the DirecTV remote and view them in the program guide to find out the showing times. I don't miss the magazine. And besides, $38 is $38.

Good point about the $. However, are there good online TV review sites? I never thought about looking before - it may be time to check out what else is available in addition to what the TiVo Magazine is able to lead me to. In general I really like the 'Satellite Direct' highlights for upcoming shows...

I was using the DTV edition of TV Guide and cancelled the subscription. I never used it for the listings. About the only thing I read in it was Cheers and Jeers.

If you're a subscriber already and have to ask your question the answer is probably no. But I'd never post a question like that in a Forum like this.
I suscribe to the magazine and enjoy looking at all the listings conveniently displayed in a portable low tech format.
