Does anyone have a copy of the full data sheets in electronic or printed form (not the version available on the net that's pretty much useless 4-5 pages long)? Pretty please?

No one (AFAIK) other than tridge (in this group I mean), you will have to ask sony abt them... see what andrew says abt finding the specs

Yep it's not on their site. I was looking for the same thing. I haven't tried calling Sony yet.

Damn I didn't realize Tridge's group has done so much work on hacking TiVo. That's going to take some time for people to replicate.

Does playstream still work with 2.0?

Has anyone thought of the possibility of modifying the kernel code (which is public) to intercept writes to the decoder? I know nothing about Linux kernel development but it seems like it could be feasible.
