Read this patent . Is this a patent on the noise that used to be at the end of TiVoTakes? That stuff that we figured the TiVo could decode and use for transfering large files over cable TV?

Or am I reading this wrong? It looks like it entails even more than that, and the "program start/stop" section kinda makes it sound like XDS, or file transfer via XDS.

YEAH! You got it! Interesting read. I'm not all the way through it, but something confuses me. For anything but, say, a DirectTivo, you're not going to be able to transmit information as Cb/Cr variations beause it is decoded as RGB, isn't it? (I could be wrong.) What I'm thinking is that it is only good for MPEG video from beginning to end.
