Do I need drive cable?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm gathering parts to add a drive to my 20 hour SA. I bought a Maxtor 40MB drive (retail version). I'm about to order a mounting bracket from 9thTee. Do I need to order the ATA 66 cable from 9thTee or will the one that comes with the Maxtor do?

In most cases, the cable already in the tivo will work just fine. ATA-66 is not needed.

One additional bit of information. The extra cable is held down by a small plastic clip, and you will need to cut the plastic clip to release the cable for use with the second drive.

The second drive power connector is held by a wire tie that needs to be cut.
There is a plastic clip that holds the data cable, but the cable just slides out. The clip can be removed from the chassis and attached to the top of the added drive, to continue to hold the data cable in place. Do not cover any of the drive vent holes!
