duplicate channels on digital cable

I have AT&T digital cable and have duplicates of several channels. e.g. Comedy Central is Channel 74 and 215. The lower number is 'analog' and the higher is 'digital', FWIW. (I can't see any difference in quality myself, but maybe I will with time and I become more exposed to digital.) By default, TiVo uses the lower numbered analog channel. Is there any way to make it use the higher (digital) channel by default, without deleting the other channel?

Assuming not, this means I have to remove the lower channel from the "Channels I Receive" menu (which I always have a hard time finding), and add the higher channel. Season passes will then be messed up, right?

The more I think about this, the less clearly I remember how TiVo handles duplicate channels....

Is there a reason to leave things the way they are, forsaking the duplicate digital channels? I have a half-baked notion that the analog channels are more robust in some way, perhaps less prone to gremlins in the cable system or a miscommunication in the guide data.

BTW, we've had our Tivo for a month now and we love it!

I just removed the lower channels from the "Channels I Receive" list. Not elegant, but at least now the TiVo records the better quality channel.

I think we have the same cable company. When I tried to record from channel 215 it would always record off of channel 74. Delete channel 74. They are the same channel (network) so I think the season pass will simply record off the other comedy central.

I noticed that the digital comedy Central picture is no sharper (or less sharp) than the analog but it has almost no static. If there is less static you can record at a lower quality setting without the picture getting as pixilated.
