S L O W Season Pass Manager
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've been trying to organize my season passes, all 80 of them, but its virtually impossible as each change requires 10 - 20 minutes of update time.
How can I clean out the To Do list *and* the Season Pass list?
Am I the only one with this problem or is this common with loads of season passes?

Mike,
as long as you STAY on the Season Pass list, you can rearrange the order of your SPs as much as you want without delay and THEN recreate the To-do list ONCE (might take 20 min) by pressing left arrow.

Yeah, if you want to move them around, move them all around without going to edit any of their options. Then only one "rebuild" is needed.

Just make sure NOT to go into the details of any Season Pass... (Don't RIGHT ARROW past the right column that lets you move the items up and down.)
Instead, move the season passes up and down, then exit (just press Tivo button). After the wait, I personally go into the To Do List, and cancel season passes from there. It doesn't cause an instant recalculation of the To Do List this way...

When ever I move anything..it takes up to 40 plus mintutes to do the recalc.
I'm not sure I understand how to move things without it having to update it.
Could you explain it to me more carefully?
This is what I do...
1. Go into season pass manager.
2. Find the show I want to move
3. Move over to the up/down icon
4. Move show where I want
5. Hit select
6. Wait 40 minutes for it to change...
What am I doing wrong?

#5. Simply press left and go highlight another show.

Wow, 40 minutes?? I have 80+ things in my Season Pass Manager list, and it takes 5-7 minutes... how many auto-record wishlists do you have in the list? Are they mostly keyword wishlists? I think I remember reading that these are are the most time-consuming to calculate...

I posted the exact same question about 2 months ago. So, I could feel your pain when I read your problem.

It took nearly 6 hours to update my SP list after I completly reorganized.
Maybe I have too many wish lists?
Posted by: Samsara
Absolutely!
Even with as many as 105 items in the SPM, I've never seen it take more than 20-30 minutes. You should also make sure that your Auto-record WishLists aren't too broad. It's not only the number of SPs and WLs that takes time but the number of individual episodes being managed.

The problem is that in order to delete all of them, I have to wait 40 - 60 minutes between each delete.
I wish there was some way to wipe out the the stuff without waiting for it to update.

Processing is processing... you're not gonna be able to speed things up a lot. However, some of your lag may come from hd swapping. Many people have reported much snappier TiVos after upgrading their ram. Search in the underground forum, maybe it'll help you out.
Two things to note:
1) You need to be comfortable with a soldering iron. NOT for the weak of heart.
2) This is only for SA units. DTiVos come with the max. allowable RAM.

Easy solution... DON'T DELETE SEASON PASSES FROM SEASON PASS MANAGER.
Go into the To Do List, and you can go into the details of any upcoming recording, and you have the option of cancelling the season pass.

I'd love to see the documentation on this.
The quickest way to remove multiple Season Passes from your TiVo for shows which are no longer on, or which you no longer record, is the do the following steps:
1. Exit the Season Pass Manager http://www.isp-choice.com/smilies/saywhat.gif

Yeah, but what about wish lists or season passes that don't have a showing in the To Do list.
AFAIK the only way to delete these is in the season pass manager.
Posted by: brianp6621
Nope a SP which has no showings will come up at the bottom of the now showing lists as NONE UPCOMING...
FOr wishlists, go to the specific wishlist in the wishlists section (not SPM) and delete or turn off AR of the specific WL..

I have multiple title wishlists in my season pass manager to catch shows which air on the east/west coast network feeds (to aid with conflict resolution). I have about 128 hrs of storage, and have about 50 autorecord wishlists/season passes. Exiting the Season Pass manager takes about 5 minutes... Now onto the question: does anyone know if it would be less processor/memory intensive to use two season passes for these shows (one for East Coast, one for West Coast) instead of an auto-record Title Wishlist?
