I had the folling setup...
original tivo A drive 30gb set to secondary master
new 80 gb drive set up as secondary slave

I ran qunlock.exe bios now reporting full 30 gb on tivo drive, then booted into Tivomad, script only ran for maybe 20 sec or so then ended. I thought it was supposed to take several hours. I decided to put back original drive into tivo, now stuck on the powering up screen. My wife is going to kill me, can you save my marrage. thanks

Have you double checked the power and IDE connections? Also the master/slave jumpers?

Well I'll look again. I must say the jumper settings on the side of this Quatium drive are a bit vague. What should it be set at as a single tivo drive.

Ok, I'm back. IDE connector and jumpers look ok, I can hear hard drive activity with jumpers set at master or cable select. I hear no activity if set to slave. Sounds like boot starts up, runs for about 10 seconds, then stops. Power light on front panel blinks at this moment. On the tv screen "recorder is starting up" gets a white flash every 10 seconds. Hmmnn.....

Master is definitely what you want, just like a PC. If there's only 1 device it should be master. If there are two, one must be master, the other slave.

When I did my TiVoMAD upgrade, my screen went blank after boot-up when I first installed the expanded drive. I panicked for a moment, but then just pushed the TiVo button on my remote. Seems TiVo thought it should be in Standby.

I'm afraid I don't have any more ideas, sorry.

Thanks for the reply Greg. I think my problem is a little deeper. Anyone else want to jump in here?
