Upgrade in progress - question

Hi,
I'm in the process of upgrading my Tivo, just found out it's a 2 drive version with a 30GB hard drive and a 15 GB hard drive (UK model). Can anyone tell me which of those drives is usually the A Drive? Is it the 30Gb one nearest the case or the 15GB one nearer the centre? Presume the 30Gb one is the A drive and the other one has been married to it?

Cheers
Andy

You are correct. The A drive is the 30GB.

Thanks! Beginning to regret I started this already, got 3 hard drives sat here and not much clue what I'm doing... the thing that's confused me is this cable select business, do I need to jumper the new upgrade drive as cable select as well? The 15 GB drive hasn't even got the jumpers set at all so I don't know what that thinks it is! Anyway I presume the 30Gb A drive is on the master connector and the 15Gb B drive is on the slave connector and I'll progress on that basis...

Thanks
Andy

Andy,

If you haven't already done so, read Hinsdale's How-to at the following address;

With regards to the jumpers, Tivo sets the A drive to cable select. If this drive will remain as the A drive, just leave that jumper alone. As for the B drive, no jumpers with Quantum drive means it's a "slave".
