I was using the boot CD to back up my 14 hr Tivo. After realizing that I needed to boot with the noswap option on I was fine. Backup was successful and restore tested out ok. Then when I when I went to run BlessTiVo I kept getting all sorts of errors trying to boot up with the default byte swapped option. I decided to use the noswap option and run BlessTiVo. It seemed to work OK but when I put the drive in the Tivo I still get 14 hours reported.

Is it required to be booted up with byteswapping on in order to run BlessTivo?

yes, you can use either the Dylan Boot Disk or TiVoMad Floppy (hit ctrl+C to exit script and get linux # prompt) to run BlessTiVo if you cant get the boot cd to boot the default option properly .

I was finally able to get the boot cd to run properly. It seems to have a problem when my fat32 hd is attached. The reason I say this is that as soo as I removed that drive, it booted up fine with the default option. Perhaps it's a coincidence.

Since the drive I was blessing was locked and due to the fact I'm a lazy ******* and didn't want to go to the basement to retrieve the unlock utility I tried booting multiple times with different configurations.

It's good to have a small backup now. Has anyone included their backup on a boot cd?
