Curious to know if TiVo is keeping tabs on what I record and watch and sending it back to TiVo HQ and being used or sold. Would they tell us if they were.

Yes they are watching you and there are many threads discussing this in the coffee house forum. The data is supposedly anonymous though.
Edit:Removed sarcastic remarks.. didnt want to scare anyone http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

It records everything you watch, every time you press a button on the remote, and every show it records.
And yes, it's anonymous. Do a search in the Coffee House and you'll find thousands of posts where we go over this. The data cannot be traced back to your unit because of the way it's sent and the way it's formed.
But by all means don't believe me, this is a hacking forum. The files are tivoLog.prv and something I forget at the moment... Read the tclient.log file and it shows which files it's sending on the backhaul. Then you just examine those files. Read tclient and it's log to see how it sends them. Form your own opinion.

That's the spirit Otto, I could really care less if they are or not, however I have a friend that thinks that those that make money from selling information about people is way wrong. I just think that it is because he didn't think of it first http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif.
