Can I upgrade a 30 hour tivo using Hinsdale (software 2.5)

Well of course I procrastinated long enough to do this upgrade. I was waiting for the 60 gig maxtors to drop enough to buy one for the tivo. They did & I bought & last night I got a message telling me about the great features of 2.5.

The hard drive is already shipped & will be here monday. I would like to use the Hinsdale guide as the exact steps I will follow. Can I still use that guide as my "bible" to tivo upgrading?

Any gotchas I should know about?

Thanks,
Rich

I upgraded my sony sa after the 2.5.1 and the only thing that was different was I had to unlock the drive when i put it in after testing the software. read hinsdales how to and it will work make sure you do a back up and test it also dont forget to check the drives for correct size after booting into linox every time.

I upgraded my Philips 20 hour standalone running 2.5.1 with a 40GB Maxtor and an 80GB Seagate (both 5400 RPM) and a 9th Tee drive bracket . I used Hinsdale's instructions , Kazymyr's bootable CD . I now have a 142 hour unit.

Gather all the parts and hardware. Print Hinsdale's instructions and read them several times. Print the 9th Tee bracket instructions so you'll have them handy when you mount your B drive.
Good luck,

Steve
