Would someone be so kind as to explain what "tivonet" is and why someone would want to add it to their tivo?

TiVoNet is an adapter card that allows you to connect an ISA NE-2000 Compatible Ethernet card into the front diagnostic slot on the motherboard of your TiVo.

What this allows you to do is connect to your TiVo via an ethernet connection, instead of just a serial connection. This also allows you to, with the help of the TiVoWeb project, connect with a web browser to your TiVo and program it and review programming on your TiVo.

There are other things that you could do with the NIC, but they exceed the types of things that can be discussed on this message board.
