Upgrade after rebooting problem possible?

Hi!
I have my Tivo for approximately one and half year and everything was working right until recently. I have noticed that Tivo is restarting more and more frequently until today when it went in loop and it is rebooting constantly.
I did search on problem and see that majority people that is experiencing same problem had to replace hard drive. So far I did not what to open Tivo, to maybe upgrade to bigger drive because I did not want to void warranty. At this point it really doesn't mater so I did open it and my Tivo is dual drive (first drive 30 gig second drive 15 gig).
My question would be, can I remove both drives purchase two bigger drives and get 2.5 software from net, copy to new drives and assemble everything together?
IS this possible?
I was not able to find any info is something like this possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
