Is it possibe to add a channel that represents line-in like a VCR? I have a perfectly functional channel line up and wanted to record some video from my camera.

I've read the TIVO FAQ, but I don't understand what they are saying.

Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

The simple answer to your question, taken literally, is "no."

But you can fake it if you have a stand-alone TiVo. Just tell it you have a satellite tuner or a cable box on your video input. Then connect your camera there instead. The channel number won't affect anything except the name and length of the program it thinks it recorded.

There's a little script called "comp_in.tcl" that *MIGHT* work - last I heard it might have issues. But what it does is add a line-in channel (usually channel 1)... And no, I don't know if it'll work under 2.5 - some have reported it works though, but considering it was designed for TiVo software two generations ago... (1.3).
