First, until 1100 CT tonight (12/17) Dell has a 20% off + Free Shipping deal. So hurry over there if you need a hard drive.

My question is: have any of you bought this drive?

I am hoping that this is a Maxtor, but I don't know. Dell's Customer Service has not responded yet, so I am hoping that some of you may already know whether this is a Maxtor or not.

I bought an 80GB drive from them in October

Description: Hard Drive; 80GB IDE 5400RPM for Dell Dimension 4100
Manufacturer: DELL

It was a Seagate. I forgot to note what model. It's been in one of my TiVos since since Oct 28 .

Yeah. If you look at their site, they have this posted:

"20% off select new software & peripherals when you purchase online from the Dell Home Systems Software & Peripherals site."

But if you go to the hard drive section, then it says only 10% off of drives. I guess the key word is "select!"

Monitor http://www.techbargains.com or http://www.dealios.com for up to the minute deals at dell.com.

Seems like Dell has been running great sales in either their Home or Small Business sections of their website off and on for weeks.

Not only hard drives (picked up a 60GB Maxtor last week for $107 after 15% discount and free shipping. Sales have been 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% off depending on their whim.

Too bad they don't sell TiVo's!
