Big UK web update
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

It might be of interest that www.uk.tivo.com has finally been updated to include something a bit more interesting than a few links to press releases on other websites. (...How many days is it now since Tivo was supposedly released on Oct 1st? Err... 10 days... http://www.avsforum.com/ubbtivo/rolleyes.gif Right...)
At least now there seem to be a few screenshots of the Tivo interface and a bit of explanation as to what the product does. More like the US site, but with the UK version of things...
After browsing a bit, it seems to me that the glittering prize for those of us who have now placed an order - but feel they are waiting for a Christmas that will never arrive - is the full UK Tivo user manual -- it is available from the site in Adobe PDF format. Just follow the link in the right-hand column for "Viewer's Guide".

Wow, an update. We're real people now.
It looks like a very good site, but now for some comments if anyone is listening:
* Create Your Own Personal TV^(TM) Network
Um, I don't think we have Networks in the UK (unless thats how Sky refers to channels). That's an ABC/CBS/NBC kind of US thing. How about the 'You've got to see it to believe it' slogan at the top instead.
* Pop-Ups
Some of the pop-up windows aren't big enough, and there aren't any scroll options defined. For instance, Now Playing ends with the line 'Watch a recorded programme, even while' Win2K with IE 5.5. This is in Medium font. Small gives another line, and smallest shows the whole thing. Netscape has the same problem depending on font size. IE 4 in medium seems okay.
* Forum
No link to the AVS Forums for help/further info, or even a link to the parent www.tivo.com web site.
* Questions/Answers
The site has an excellent set of questions/answers. Why, people might not even need to come here anymore http://www.avsforum.com/ubbtivo/smile.gif
* Manual
An Index. Excellent. Might have to print this out. Of course, when I tried to print the US version it took so long people kept turning off the printer, and it would restart - I think I got 10 partial copies before someone asked me to kill the job.
