1.5.1 and Wide Screen Programmes

Hi,
From what people have been saying proper wide screen control is part of the 1.5.1 upgrade can someone confirm that this is for material recorded onto the TiVO box.
ie - with sky digital - digibox set to 16x9 and a 16x9 TV
record a wide screen program on the TiVO
Play it back and the TV automatcially switches from 4x3 to 16x9 as required by the broadcaster.
It does this by changing the pin 8 voltage on the SCART connector?
Thanks....

Hi,
I have Sky set to 16:9 and TV set to 16:9. Yes, it works fine. As I said in another post, the TiVo certainly 'sees' the different voltages on pin 8 and flags the program for widescreen. On playback though, The TiVo seems to use the 'Aspect Ratio' data in line 23 of the picture to signal wide. I know this because it gets passed through my video sender to my TV upstairs (which is really handy since I didn't expect that to work!). It is of course possible that it also asserts the correct voltage on pin 8 but I haven't measured it so can't be sure.
Best Regards ...

Oops, sorry Alan. Just realised I already replied to your previous post on this subject. If I get time today, I will do a bit of detective work for you on the pin 8 output and phono output.

Thanks.
The problem is that if it is sending stuff over the video sender it might be doing something else that won't work for me.
By the way is your video sender connected to the TiVO.
