Uptime King?

I like the Tivo King idea so much that i made a similar page/parody. The Tivo Uptime Queen.

I'm the current ruling queen with a mere 1 day 1hour 09 minutes and 49 seconds.

Submit your uptimes to this forum, and the winner should submit a photo to the website: http://www.tivonews.com/features/uptimeking.shtml

Damn, if the guy who hosts my server hadn't lost power for more than four hours (I have about 1 hour of UPS time), the machine that the Season Pass Popularity Profiler had been up for 155 days. If there are any geeks out there who care about it, I have the uptime displayed when an extra parameter is passed to the related forums . Look on the bottom of the page.

This thing's running on a $500 HP Pavillion desktop with Redhat Linux, and I barely ever touch it.

A since-retired Gateway 486 I had exceeded 300 days of uptime on slackware Linux a few years ago, a feat more momentous for my power company than the PC - power outages and hardware installations were the only reasons I ever had to reboot it. But I never put the cover on it, and a month or two before it hit a year I failed to adequately restrain a just-bathed dog who of course decided to shake herself off right next to the open case. It locked up, and although it rebooted ok it was never quite the same after that.

Well, back to TiVo: There is a theoretical maximum uptime bounded by software upgrades. Some don't last more than a week http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

I think it's bounded only by when the first TiVo hit the market. If you've still got 1.3 software and you never connected it to a phone line...

The first TiVo to hit the market actually shipped with version 1.0! And in fact a lot of the people here, including myself, bought units that came with 1.2.1, which was the shipping version on all 14 hour units and on 30 hour units back in April of last year when they first came down to an affordable price.($399) The first units to actually ship with 1.3 were the Sony units which came out in May of last year and then the Philips HDR31202 which came out shortly after that.

My TiVo was up for 147 days until I got the 2.5.1 update.
It's been up now since Friday so ~5 days now.
I have mine on a USP that will keep the TiVo operating for 3.5 hours if(when) the power fails.

I had 158 days until I bumped the plug last week while plugging something else into the power strip.

Still no 2.5 (I have not signed up).

My first Tivo (model 110 - 14hr) came loaded with 1.1. It didn't support cable + satellite. You could only use one or the other. Ahhh, the memories...http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

FWIW, I still have that unit, but the hard drives died last year so it's running a pair of WD30s. (note: UPS/w phone filter since day 1)
