why doesn't my skip to tick function work?

I have a stand alone TIVO and got 2.5 three days ago, however when I push the remote it still skips-to-end rather than skips-to-ticks. Is something wrong?

You must be FF'ing or RW'ing to get to the tick marks.

That's correct...if you press it during regular play (or while watching the live buffer) it still works as "skip to end."

But if you use 30-second skip backdoor, the tickmarks don't work! I think I'm going to have to disable my 30-second skip!

Since the 30-sec skip is just 6 button pushes (S-P-S-3-0-S), it shouldn't be TOO big a deal...it is a toggle on/off, so disable it when you need to jump 15 minutes or to the end, then re-enable it for the beauty of the 30-sec skip (which I use far more frequently than the other functions anyway).

Unless 6 button pushes is just way too strenuous for you, that is! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif
