Why aren't my suggestions all recording at default quality?

This is interesting. My default quality setting was set at "basic" for two years until about a week ago, when I bumped it up to "medium". Since bumping it up, my suggestions have been recording at "medium" except in three instances (one back on Wednesday, two today) when it inexplicably recorded suggestions at "basic." This has happened under versions 2.5.1.G3 and 2.5.1 alike. I can't really figure out what differentiates the programs (i.e. what records at the higher quality and what records at the lower quality).

I thought TiVo always recorded suggestions at the default recording quality. Is this a known issue?

After changing default recording quality it will take a while for suggestions to change to the new quality (like two weeks). This has happened with all of the software versions. Don't know why this is so, probably something to do with the fact that suggestions are planned out for the period of the guide data, and don't get updated with the new quality.

Oh I see so if suggestions have been sitting around on my "suggestions to do" for awhile, it'll record at the old setting. Thanks.
