Backup to Logical Dos Partition?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm looking to backup a virgin 14 hour drive. I have my 8GB drive partitioned into C: and D: I have about 5GB available on D: and I think that'll be enough for my backup, but when I mount using the instructions from the faq, I can only mount the C: Does anyone know the command to allow me to mount the D:

Thanks for your help.

/dev/hda5 should be the first logical drive. /dev/hda6 should be the
next one. do a mount /dev/hda5 /mnt and make sure that you've got the
correct drive.

Forgive my ignorance, I did a /dev/hda1 and that gave me my C:, /dev/hda5 will give me my D: ?

Thanks,

correct. Unix uses a-d for primary partitions and 5> for logical.
