Big favor to ask...

I want to get a 14hr tivo at the reduced price of 199.99. Would anyone be willing to send me a scan of their sales receipt showing that they paid only $199.99 from a circuit city or sears outlet?

I know it only works out to $100 extra savings but I found a sales rep at a circuit city that said he would accept a copy of a receipt from someone showing that they only paid $199.99 at another circuit city or a sears store.

You can email it to me at: jeffhubert@mac.com

Thanks...

As far as I can tell, Sears' $199.00 special ended yesterday. I don't know what they will do with remaining stock since the new 20-hour is only $299. I have my suspicions though based on my experience buying a Tivo yesterday: I called and the store said they had FOUR Tivos NIB for $199. I drove directly to the store and bought one. While I was ringing it up, I was telling the guy how great they are and how there's a $100 rebate and they're hackable etc... I also mentioned I might want to buy more. I asked how many were left and the guy looked kinda shifty all of a sudden and keys into the register 55980 (not 55979 the correct stock no.) and tells me they aren't any left. I told him he keyed in the wrong number and he kinda just got this dumb look and ignored me. I think the remaining Tivos will probably be given/sold cheaply to employees, but this guy is obviously hiding them from me. If you were there you'd agree.

Hi,
I just called sears and checked on that stock number and the computer still says $199.
I actually found one in a store, so I'm off to a CC later to try this.

I could use a receipt as well (ala JHUBERT) if anyone has one for verification to show the sales rep.

anyone?

thanks in advance, jaymer_avs@jaymer.com

Tj - What codes do I need to get them to look up the right price on the tivo?

I'm pretty busy now. In a few hours, I will type the receipt up. I hope that helps. I heard that they will still give you theese deals.

Thank you TJ!!

What do you mean by "Type the reciept up"? I don't think they would accept anything but a copy of the original slip. If you have a scanner just scan it in and send it to me as a jpeg.

Thank you so much!!!

PS... If you don't have a scanner just send what ever you were planning on sending! I will try anything!

Okay everyone. Before you send me another PM, please realize that you can not necessarily use the receipt. First, make sure you write down the Sears stock number 55979 (I'm pretty sure). Go to Sears and ask them for the price on it. At my Sears it would've gone a lot faster if I had told them the Sears stock number. Then, if they give you 199.97 or so, go to CC and see if they have any 14 hour Tivos in stock. If they do, say that youd like to get one with the pricematch. They will probably call Sears and ask the price. Unless they get the exact same guy as you talked to, this may take a while. If they don't give the same price you may have to go back to Sears. If you do, get the same guy and ask him to give you the price in writing. Don't worry if you have to tell them what it's for.
IF the salesman SPECIFICALY asks for a copy of a receipt, THEN you can send me a PM. Most likey that copy of the receipt copy won't help you unless they ask for it. If you have any questions, just reply or send me a PM. I don't want to sound unfreindly, I just only want people who need it to get the receipt.

P.S. If you got to CC in Merrilville IN, I highly recomend that you ask for Sabrina.

Unfortunately, the 3 CC's I went to in Cleveland require that Sears actually has the item in stock. I had someone from Sears give us the price, in writing, and he even said we could call him, but both the salesman and the manager at CC said the item had to be in stock. I checked out their policy online, and it does indeed say the item needs to be in stock.

To those who got CC to pricematch, congratulations!

I'm sorry. Still the TiVo for $99 is a pretty good deal. You could also try looking at other stores in the area. I heard somewhere else that the Sears (or other store) must be within 50 miles of the CC. The Mercata deal looks pretty goo too!

I tried for 4 hours to get CC to give me the 199 price but no go. Sad to say that I could not pull it off. I did however get a tivo and it is doing the setup as I right this.

tj, is your receipt from CC or Sears? I'm looking for a scanned receipt from CC from someone who managed to get the $199 price match. I already bought a Philips 14 hr unit for $199 from Sears but I want to try a price match at CC. Thanks.

My receipt is CC.
Jhubert, I'm sorry for you. Why wouldn't they give it to you? Welcome to the TiVolution!
