Since when did TiVo...

Since when did TiVo delete season passes for channels that it thinks don't exist? I KNOW I used to have a bunch of duplicate season passes... a bunch for here (school), and a bunch for at home. Redoing all my SPs when I go home for the summer is a PITA. I don't really need a machine to second guess what I want!

At least ask... "I see you have N season pass(s) for stations that don't seem to exist. This could be caused by moving the TiVo to another location, or a lineup change. Deleting these may speed up [whatever the heck deleting them would speed up]. Would you like to delete them?"

A better way to fix this would be to have network based season passes. (So I could say record Nova on PBS instead of record Nova on WPBS and record Nova on WCFE and record Nova on WGBY and...)

Use wishlists and you will not get them deleted.

I have VERY few season passes since wishlists came out. I changed most everything over to wishlists and my TiVos are much happier.

Wishlists are a piss poor solution to this problem.

TiVo either needs to allow a special case for a Season Pass on a non-existant channel, or just go ahead and give us what we really want, the ability to put Season Passes on hiatus. Season Passes are a core TiVo functionality. Deleting them w/o user permission = bad.

Why? Season passes are for a specific channel (by name, not by number). Wishlists are intended to be for the entire system. If this is what you want, this is what you should use....

I do agree however that the system should not EVER delete season passes for you, they should still stay there forever until you delete them manually. AND you should be able to edit them and change the channel they are associated with. (One that note, you should be able to edit manual recordings as well)

Well, I wouldn't change all of my shows to WL's, but I did just that for shows that I *know* are on more than more channel, like "24" (On Fox and fx) and all of HBO's original programming (on 5-6 HBO's throughout the week.) Works well and really helps with the conflicts.

WishList PRO: The WL can pick up other shows ABOUT your show. I recently go E!'s True Hollywood Special on "Three's Company"! Very cool. I had a SP before and switched it over to a WL because there are multiple Nick stations. Now I catch Three's Company all the time and get specials about it as a perk!
