I have a question that I haven't been able to find the answer to..

I want to take my already blessed and used B drive out of my TiVo and use the AMSET utility to turn off the acoustic managment features of the Maxtor..

My question is, can I do this on a Bios that will recognize the drive but incorrectly reports the capacity?

Give it a try. If the Amset utility finds the drive, I would say you are in! I would actually be rather suprised if this didn't work, as the utility is most likely talking directly to the drive.
