Tivo Hard Drive Backup - help please

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a virgin tivo the 30 hour version. I have a 450mhz pII computer with two 10 GB hard drives, and a cd-rw drive. How do I back up the original tivo drive onto CD-R's? Is there a good software to do that with? Do I need software? etc.
Thanks in advance.

You'll find the answer to most of those questions in the FAQ (click on the TiVo icon to the left of the ad - it says "TiVo Hack FAQ").

But basically, you'll be making an image, compressing it, then splitting it onto files on the hard drive (make plenty of room on it, though, and don't be surprised at the amount of space needed). The splitter will split the files into nice 650 meg chunks, which should fit onto a normal CD-R, which you burn as a regular file.

To restore, you copy all these files back onto your hard drive, and reimage them.
