Backup to CDR

I'm planning to upgrade my 30hr with an 80GB Maxtor, and just wanted to clarify the procedure for backing up the A drive to CDRs. I think Section 2.18 of the Hack FAQ covers the steps for doing this, but (just in case) I want to make sure. If I follow the steps in 2.18, will I automatically get a bunch of 650MB files? What will they be called? The title says "How do I split a compressed backup into smaller files onto another hard disk", which makes me think I'd already have had to do one backup to a compressed file before I can split it. The FAQ, however, says to attach the original drive A.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Yes, If you follow the steps you will have
1 - Linux boot disk
2. Harddrive with dos partition
3. Tivo A drive
And the command will
read the entire A drive -> zip -> split (650Mb) -> files on fat drive

But - I have had a couple of problems with the restore reporting two diffrent sizes, so I recommend checking this by restoring to another drive, and if the drive is not a quantum, makeing the ideturbo change.

Can anyone suggest why my restore is not working (from FAT 650's, but a disk to disk image is OK
