Success with Maxtor as A Drive?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a Philips 31202. CompUSA has the 30GB Maxtor drives for $100, and I am tempted to get one for backup purposes. I have a few questions, though:
1. Will it work as an A Drive?
2. Assuming it will, would it be wiser to leave the Maxtor in the Tivo and us it primarily, shelfing the Quantum, or leaving the Quantum in and shelfing the Maxtor?
If someone can point out a cheaper place for a good backup drive that works, I'd consider it as well.

You can get a Quantum LCT 15-30 at 9thTee.com for $108+ $4 shipping... Why not spend the extra $12 for a Quantum?

The FAQ tells you how to use a non Quantum drive as the A drive.
