Need help getting MC running on tivo

Hi I need some advise on getting mc (midnight commander) running on my tivo. I am getting the following error

mc: error in loading shared libraries
libtermcap.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

My question is where do I need to put the files so it will run?

Also will windows hyperterminal work or should I get a better program. If so which would you recommend?

Copy the libraries to /lib on the TiVo. Hyperterminal has worked for me so far.
