Nuking & re-creating "To Do" list...?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've just successfully (I think) upgraded my TiVo to a 134.02 hour unit (82.5 Medium, 62.5 High & 38.5 Best http://www.avsforum.com/ubbtivo/smile.gif )
However, I now want to re-create my "To Do" list in order to set everything to record at "High" minimum. Additionally, I want to prioritize my Season Passes since I've now learned how to add conflicting SP's.
Rather than manually going in and deleting everything in the To Do list, can I just set the unit back to the factory defaults? Going into the Factory Defaults menu, I have 2 choices:
1) Delete Preference Profile
2) Full System Reset
Would either accomplish what I want?
Thanks!

Did you already set the default recording speed? According to recent posts, you simply have to be patient and wait a minimal amount of time for the "To Do" items to change to your new default quality selection.

Actually, you currently DO have to manually re-create the ToDo list with the new quality setting. Suggestions will gradually change to the default.
With 2.0, though, you're supposed to be able to edit your ToDo's to change quality, etc.

With 2.0 you can do all this quite easily.
With 1.3, you can't. You have to delete and recreate the Season Pass to change its quality setting. It will not change on its own, as sonnik suggested.

Well, some enterprising TiVohacker could cook up some tcl to walk the season passes (and pending recordings) and change the recording quality. Not exactly trivial, but it's not brain surgery either.

That would be my area... VitaMan, do you have shell access to your TiVo? I think I could whip up a script to change all the todo entries and season passes to high, but I wouldn't be able to test it http://www.avsforum.com/ubbtivo/smile.gif

I am not sure if I have a null-modem adaptor. The one I thought was, turned out to say "SCSI terminator" on it (25 pin).
I used to, but I don't know if one of these cables/adaptors I have is one. I have tons of cables, but no simple gender-bender! I can accomplish it by using a few 9-to-25-pin converter cables, but I run the risk of my total cable being too long.
Given that, I'd say it is easier to nuke my setup and re-do it.
Unfortunately, my question remains unanswered:

(and if it does... would it also delete my "Now Showing" selections?)
Thanks!

A full system reset nukes Now Showing.
