Upgrade help

I have had my 14hr tivo for over a year and now i have to upgrade. anyone upgrade the hdr112? Is it easy? does the new hard drive comprimse peformance on playback?

Upgrading is REALLY easy.
If you can install a hard drive in a computer...then you can do the upgrade.

Took me about 2 hours to upgrade my 14 hour TiVo. This 2 hours included the backup of the original drive, running "BlessTiVo" and then putting the drive bak in TiVo.

I suggest reading through some of the other threads in the Underground section about other people's experience in upgrading their TiVo.

Just a quick reminder to test the drive you're about to put into the TiVo - once the drive is married, there's no going back other than a restore from backup (essentially). Especially since you'll lose all your recordings.

Bad sectors on a drive can cause the TiVo to crash and/or stutter, so it can take a little longer depending on the computer used to run the tests.
