Any particular deals on Tivos or DirecTivos going on this weekend that you would like to share? The $99 Phillips DirectTivo from Circuit City sounds pretty good.

Obviously, if you have DirecTV, you should get the Philips DirecTV with TiVo receiver. It won't work too well if you have cable. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

How about some good SA deals? It's to be a gift for my parents, so I want to find a brick & mortar store so I can get an extended warranty on the thing.

There's still a few units hiding out there. I've been watching a couple 20-hr units at a local Wal-Mart as their price slowely worked it's way down. I finally got them a few days ago (one to keep, one to sell (pm me if interested)).

So keep your eyes open, there are probably still a few units out there collecting dust on some back shelf.

If you're okay with shopping online and buying your extended warranty online, you can pick up a Sony SVR-2000 online for only $308 at http://www.lgdsuperstore.com/svr2000.html

And it appears like that's *BEFORE* the $100 rebate that Sony is offering. I've posted the rebate coupon to my website at http://www.scottworld.com/tivorebate.pdf

I'll keep looking around for even better deals!

See ya,
Scott

The Philips-branded Tivos seem to be more reliable than the Sony's.

Considering they're identical internally, made on the same assembly line, any perceived reliability differences aren't real.
