Digital audio out?

Does the Tivo system record DTV's complete audio signal including Dolby Digital sound for those channels that broadcast it? Can I add a Digital Audio out jack and bypass the Tivo D/A?

If you have one of the DirecTV-TiVo combo units, it records the digital audio signal as-is and should present it on the digital audio output of the box when you play.
If you have a "standalone" TiVo, there is no digital audio in or out - analog is all you get.
