Backing up my A drive

I am going to be be backing up my A drive before adding a B drive and have a question.

I have a 30 hour Sony that I think has a 30GB Quantum drive. Can I use a 40 GB Maxtor for my backup and use this new 40 GB drive as my A drive? I know that I will only get 30 hours out of this new 40 GB drive, but that is OK because I am going to be adding a 80GB Maxtor as a B drive too.

Does anyone see any problems with this idea?

Any idea how much time I get on a 30 Hour A drive and a 80GB B drive?

It will work, but read the Hack FAQ about non-Quantum 'A' drives. Or search the forum for 'runideturbo'.
