We're trying to collect some $$$ to move the TiVo forums to a seperate server so we can get search functions back and speed things up. If you feel this forum has been helpful to you as most people do, please toss in $5 or $10 via PayPal to David@bott.net.
Thanks!

Done. A worthy cause.

Let me ask one question, though: What happens if you don't raise enough money for new servers? Where does the money actually go then?

Good Luck.

Hi All....this is very nice of you.

The server I am currently running this site on (AVS Forum, TiVo Community, Harman Community, and the Beta sites) is a Duel PIII 600 Mhz system with 1 gig of RAM and four 9.1 gig Ultrawide SCSI drive on an 8 meg caching controller running RAID 5.

It is more or less an issue with UBB and it's search function. I am currently researching new forum software, but no time line thus far for a good product to fit our growing needs.

I could move this site and the beta forums off this server and onto it's own server to gain back some server overhead. It would run me about $1,500 or so for an AMD 1 Ghz box with 1 gig RAM and 2 ATA100 drive running mirrored. I would think that should be fine to handle the load.

Nice of you all, but I did not ask as you know. http://www.avsforum.com/ubbtivo/smile.gif I am touched.

What, you can't run the forum on a TiVo with Ethernet?
