just got tivo late last week. it came with "1.3". i see new software version "2.0" talked about here. how can i get it downloaded to my tivo?

Well...assuming you have a subscription to the TiVo service, you could get it at anytime. I think they have been saying that the rollout would be finished by the end of April, but it may be partway into May now. Not really sure. Anyway, just be patient and you should have it pretty soon. (I know that's hard to do...but I'm still gonna say it. http://www.avsforum.com/ubbtivo/smile.gif )

You will get it soon. They are rolling it out to the general public so be patient and you will wake up and have all the new features.

If I bought one on Saturday and it had 1.3 and I have a note today that new features are being added and my TIVO has a pending restart message, which means tomorrow I'll have 2.01.

Tomorrow's a long time away, if I manually restart it, how long will my wife scowl at me, ready to attack, while it unpacks and installs 2.01?

thanks! i do have lifetime sub. (think i got it just before price increase) only problem i'm having is there are so many time conflicts between what i want and my wife that she may have to get her own tivo! Also, when we ask for ER season's pass, it picks up all episodes including those shown in syndication.

So many people have been burned, we should warn about a "known" problem with v2. When your system converts from v1.3 to v2, you will see a message to that effect. If you have shows that were recorded with v1.3, do NOT select save-until-I-delete (SUID) on the old shows. It works fine with show recorded after v2 installed, but earlier ones will be ... deleted. Argh.

I thought that was a Z15 bug that was fixed in Z16 (and, therefore, 2.0.1 final).

It should not pick up those syndicated shows, unless they're on the same channel. A season pass should just pick up the ERs on the channel. Make a season pass and check the to do list to see if all of them are in there. They shouldn't be.

How about "might be ... deleted." because I never lost a single minute of recorded programming during my update. I had several 1.3 programs marked SUID, too. Everything survived.

Don't get too attached to the way it "auto-corrects" after you skip commercials. This changes quite a bit from 1.3 to 2.0.1.

OK,If you get naked and spend round in front of the TiVo and say I love my TiVo over and over for a 2 minutes. It works ask all the others that did it.
