frozen up

Hello,
I hope you guys and gals can help me. I am a Tivo newbie and recently bought a Tivo HDR112. Followed the FAQ and put in a Maxtor 40GB drive. Everything was fine. Set it up Friday night, worked until this evening when I turned it on and it was frozen. Unplugged replugged multiple times and got it to work for a brief period but it froze up. Now, it cycles between "almost there" and "setting up" Have tried removing the Maxtor, reloading the backup of the virgin drive. Still does the same thing. A few notes,
This is a refurb off of Ubid.
My backup is only around 300 or so MB.
What is my next step?
Thanks.

300 MB? Sounds suspiciously small to me. I don't think it is a valid backup.

Sounds like you backed up a locked drive without unlocking it. Check the FAQ about locked drives. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do the restore it if that's what happened -- you'll have to try and find a kindly soul with a good A drive (virgin or backed up or whatever) who'll give you a copy.
