Quirky Restore but it worked!

To make a long story short I had to restore the multi-part (19 x 650Mb CDs) 2.0.1 back-up to my HDR112 because I had a bad Maxtor 40 Gig "B" drive. (Maxtor by the way was great about it and has sent a replacement out to me the same day with out question.) My Tivo "A" drive was locked so I unlocked it first. (Don't know what I would have done without the excellent guidance from the people in this forum - Thanks!) Using Dylan's boot disk I did the restore
Anyhow, the restore came up with the followning fault:
dd: /dev/hdc : No space left on device.
The blocks in - out showed:
26761216+0 IN
13066+0 Out
I tried the restore again with the same result. After some reading in this forum, I decided at that point to "live on the edge" and try the restored drive in my TiVo anyway - It worked! Last night I found the scrap paper I wrote the block in-out numbers down on when I did the back-up initially and discovered that the there was a partial block difference. My original back-up reprted:
13066+1 - In
13067+0 - Out
I would assume that dd made the last block of the back-up whole and that it tried to restore that whole last block to my "A" drive and ran out of space because the original last block was a partial.
I hope this helps save someone from pulling their hair out. I really could have used it (I don't have much left to pull out!)
