Hey I want to watch Family guy tonight and record friends. There used to be a way to do this by setting Friends to record and then you would press the pause button on FOX and allow 10 minutes or so go by, and then you could continue watching the buffer and it wouldn't change the channel- so I could watch Family Guy while Friends recorded. Today I noticed that using this method has seemed to have vanished-it doesn't work anymore. When the buffer reaches the time the recording is about to begin it does not allow you to watch the rest of the buffer on FOX, instead it automatically goes into shows you are recording! I think this was a dumb fix for TiVo's behalf for all SA users. Despite does anybody know of any tips to get around this? I could seriously watch more TV if there was indeed a way. Thanks a lot.

Aren't Friends and the Family Guy on at the same time??

There has never been a way to do this on the standalone boxes. Every so often somebody excitedly posts that they've discovered one but all they've done is misread the behavior of a delayed live buffer.

There is only one tuner in the SA Tivos and one MPEG encoder. One tuner cannot provide signals for two channels. Can't be done. End of story.
