Getting braver

I am getting braver day by day.
I just ordered the maxtor 80gb hd from dell. I don't have a cd burner so I will order the doot cd and hd bracket from 9 Tee. I have a coulple of questions.
1. I have a Phillips and a Hughes. I am going to do one now. Is one easier to do than the other?
2. Do they both both have dual drives?
3. I know the Philips has two drives. Do I still need to buy a mounting bracket to replace one of the drives?
4. I take it on the Philips the 30gb Hd is the A drive and I would make the new drive the B drive or would I want to make the new drive the A drive and the original drive the B drive?
5. I have an IBM 300mhz win98 computer. This should work ok? It has 2gb free space.
6.I haven't looked to see what the drive boot sequence is. It's been a long time since I have looked at it. What's the easiest way to go look?
7. Can a guy with a little computer exp. get this done?
It seems like a lot of people are doing this. How many novices are getting this done?
I will have to read the how-to-directions a few more time and I am sure I will have more questions before I get started.
Everybodies patience and help will be greatly appreciated.

Is this a stand-alone Tivo or a DirecTivo you are talking about? The answers will be different.

Ok, you don't need any hard disk brackets - only SA needs those. For the Hughes, you will need a new IDE cable and a power Y-adapter from a computer store. The Philips already has a 2 drive power cable and IDE cable. It really doesn't matter which drive is the A drive or the B drive. When you finish, they are coupled together into one large file system, so it just doesn't matter.
You check the boot sequence by getting into the BIOS before it boots Windows - usually by pressing the DEL key on power up. In the BIOS one of the pages is usually labled BOOT or something like that. Set the sequence to CD first, then floppy, then hard disk. That will work forever - no need to change it back when you're through.
If you think you could add a new hard drive to your computer, modifying a Tivo is easier because the Hinsdale instructions (that's your bible, right?) are better than any Windows instructions.
Don't get too brave - then you'll get careless :)
(actually, you do need screws to mount the new hard drive in the Philips.)

Thanks for the help. I am going to do the Hughes. I picked up the power adapter and the Ide cable today. The hard drive should be here in a day or two. Looks like a weekend project.
