160GB Maxtor reports as 137GB ??

In the process of adding a 160gb maxtor.
Used boot CD and backed up original 13.6 "A" Drive.
No problems so far...

When I booted with the new drive attached it showed a 137GB drive attached.

Installed a new IDE card that detects larger drives.
It detected the drive, but when I booted the Linux boot disk it didn't detect either HD.

Now the newby million $$ question.

The new drive was blessed but showed the diminished capacity.

Can I still use this drive even though I won't get the full capacity?

It should work fine as a 137GB drive. That's the best you can get with TiVo's current IDE support.

And any computer's IDE support that doesn't have the new IDE controller card.

Installed the new drive, fired it up and now have 182+ of basic record time. 50+ of Best Quality.
