I also posted this on the Underground board.
I got a Phillips 14 hr unit a while back. My warranty has expired, and my modem died a while back. So, I decided to put an ethernet card in it just recently. I've been screwing around with my TiVo quite a bit lately, moving it from room to room so I could hook it up to my PC and my TV. I got it working on the network, but for some reason now it stays on the "Please wait a moment..." screen when it boots up and doesn't do anything else.
Some posts suggested leaving the TiVo on for like 24 hours, and after 22 hours I decided that wasn't going to help. So, I popped the drive from the tivo into my PC, and i could mount the tivo drive fine. All the files are there. I then booted to the Maxtor POWERMAX disk, in order to check the drive for errors. I did the installation check, the basic test, and the advanced test. All of these passed with flying colors.
So, I've determined that the drive is fine. However, I was looking around on the TiVo drive and noticed that when i tried to open /etc/tivoconfig, it said "Error opening file". This would make sense that one of the config files died because I was unplugging my tivo a lot... without issuing a formal reboot/shutdown command.
Anyway, to get to the point, I'm clueless as what to do. Any ideas? And, Can someone send me a copy of the file if they are able to access it? THANKS A LOT.
