This is a question to all who ave made upgrades, A drive replacements and Blessed additions.

In your experience, what is the mean time between failures on upgraded and updated system?

This question is with all the updates, upgrades and A drive replacements that I hear on this list, I was wondering if the failure rate is better or worse with an upgraded box as opposed to an out of the box unit.

I have recently had to get a factory replacement on my Hughes after only 6 months of use, would it have been better to upgrade it soon after arrival to ensure that it wouldn't fail?

I was planning on upgrading soon anyway.
