Do I Format New Drive?

Probably a silly question, but I don't see it mentioned anywhere. If I'm replacing my A drive with a new, bigger one (single disk Sony), do I have to format the new drive with anything before starting the process? Or, is it all taken care of magically?

There is no need to format the new drive.
