Since the Series 2 TiVos have USB and Linksys along with others make 802.11b (WiFi) USB adapters, does anyone know if the Series 2 TiVos can use these wireless adapters for broadband access?

I doubt it. There would need to be a separate UI interface for it so that you can set up your WEP key (if you use it), name of the network ... just a lot of things that most home users would never need.

On a personal note, I'm starting to accumulate hardware in my AV rack that needs (or will need) an Ethernet connection. I found it easier to run one line to my AV rack, and connect a network switch. With four devices capable of networking, and possibly more later, it seemed the smarter thing to do. More bandwidth, and one simple wire.

Depending on the device, the setup may be stored on it and you could define these settings on a PC and move it to the TiVo (assuming TiVo knew how to use it as well).

I have a Dlink650 and just bought a new laptop, I pluged the wireless card into the new laptop, didn't load any drivers, and was up on the network.

Speaking of network enabled AV equipment, when is Sony going to have a receiver with a web browser interface to control it?

Well, I've got a small PC that I use for web surfing and monitoring my network and home automation. I've got room for the TiVo, as well as my GameCube, PS2, Dreamcast, and some other little goodies. Just enough to saturate an 8-port switch, so I have a 16-port SMC in there.

Nothing major, and certainly nothing particularly interesting. :)
