I have a Maxtor 80gb drive all ready to go, but have run into some a problem where I need some expert help.

The saga is:
My TiVo was having some system hanging problems and TiVo customer support suggested an exchange since they believed the HD was causing the problem. Since the unit is out of warranty, I decided to replace the original suspect drive with the Maxtor.

I have all files and diskettes ready to go, booted with the TiVoMad floppy, and the screen display does not list drive 'hdc'.

Setup is as follows:
Primary IDE Master = original Win98 drive
Primary IDE Slave = new Maxtor drive
Secondary IDE Master = original TiVo Quantum 20gb drive
Secondary IDE Slave = empty

After figuring out the Quantum jumper settings (the diagram on the drive is the most confusing I have ever seen!), I believe I have it jumped correctly. I have also disabled the Bios Secondary IDE detection, and have run qunlock on the drive.

I would appreciate any assitance anyone could offer!

This is frustrating, especially after reading all the success stories!
