Newbie Question

I am having a problem editing the .profile file. I can transfer it to my PC but when I try to transfer it back to the Tivo it gives me a file exists error.

Also is this the correct syntax?

export PATH=/var/hack/tiviweb-tcl:$PATH":"/hack/bin
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/hack/lib":"$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export HOME=/hack/root
export TERM=vt100
